Meetings, accounts

As a part of “Educational Classes with a Speaker”, students meet witnesses and other presenters as a complement to their visit to the Maison d’Izieu.

Witnesses who speak at the Maison d’Izieu:

  • Former Izieu children
  • Former hidden children
  • Former deportees

Other speakers: :

  • Historians
  • Legal specialists
  • Artists
    etc.

These people are selected based on their experience and skills in relation to the class’s educational project.

Preparation

Presentations by these speakers must be organised with the Maison d’Izieu Teaching Department.

They depend on the speaker’s willingness to participate and his or her availability.

They require preliminary knowledge and therefore preparatory work in class.
Teachers are advised to present the witness or speaker to the students beforehand, as well as the session’s theme.

It is important that the teacher define the “profile” of the witness or speaker relative to the educational objectives targeted.
The members of the Teaching Department are available to help teachers guide and develop their project.
